Today's discussion question is about comfort fic. Is there a particular kind of fic you default to writing (or reading) when times are tough?

I had hoped to write this afternoon, but I didn't feel like I could quite visualize the scene I'm working on, which is necessary for everything to work together properly. So I've been researching and plotting all afternoon, and I'm finally getting there. Hopefully I'll still have it in me to write a wee bit before bedtime.

When times are tough, I tend to not read fic. I tend to watch videos or anime that allows me to enjoy but not have to think too much. Tough times often give me a sense of how to write a similar situation (or similar emotions) so I will sometimes write notes about how I'm feeling so I can apply them to characters in my stories at some point. ;-)

I finished and posted a prompt fic on Tumblr that makes me very happy and needs an actual title. But that's about all I had time for. :)

I don't have a type I go for, specifically, but there are several fics in the Sherlock fandom that I go reread when I need a boost, because they always make me smile. :)
