Discussion: I'm not going to share this fic. Part of writing fan fic is about sharing our own perception of the world with others and making a connection but what about the fics that we write that won't be shared. Do you ever write a fic, only to never post it? Do you make it a friends locked post? Do you post everything you write?

I do sometimes write but not post, this is usually when it is something that I've written and I'm not at all confident about it. When I was active on LJ (a long time ago), I occasionally posted the fics that I wasn't certain about with the f-list and the feedback from them was encouraging but even with having that support in the past, I still hesitate over posting some of my fic from time to time. I tend to post most but not all of what I write.

I have a whole folder full of stories I'll probably never post. A lot of what I write ends up being just plain bad.
