Do you write linearly, going from point a to b to c, or do you write bits and pieces from different points in your story?
For the most part, I write linearly. That's partly because I'm discovering the story as I go along. I don't always know what's coming next. Once in a great while, when I'm completely stuck, I write a bit from later in the story so that I know what I'm aiming for.
