Discussion: deadlines. Do you like having a deadline to work to? Do you prefer to work at your own pace? Some other method?

It depends on how busy my real life is. Usually I love having a deadline because it keps reminding me that there is something I need to do, so it won't be out of focus.
There are certain ideas / topics that I can't writer under pressure and there I prefer to work at my own pace because I know if I have a deadline in the back of head I can't fully concentrate on it.

The reason why I like deadlines is because when I have finished something up to that date or earlier I can say that I did good. (Oddly enough that I hated deadlines in school so much and only worked on the last days before it was over)

I have not done any writing for more than a week. Life is too much with me at the moment, but I have some days off coming at the end of the week, so I'll be able to allot some time for writing without worrying about being interrupted in it. I do have a project coming due later in the month, so I'll be working on that.

I do like deadlines, they help me focus better and procrastinate less. It's best if they are hard and fast, but I also appreciate deadlines that allow for late submissions, as well, because Life happens, and I can't always get things done on time even when I'm focusing on writing.
