WIP Challenge Check-in -- Day 16 (Thursday)

Time for another check-in!  Is today going well so far with writerly pursuits?  If so -- or if not -- give us the details and we'll be pleased -- or sympathetic -- along with you.

Does your plan for the day involve any of the following?

--Writing
--Editing
--Send to beta
--Posting
--Procrastinating
--Planning/Researching
--Taking a break
--Something else I will describe in comments

Any word counts to report as yet?

For discussion -- We've had some great comments on whether people use pen/paper for writing or compose on their computer.  For computer work, what's your favorite word processor/online composing tool?  Why do you like it?  (I know some people have been sharing their writing tools already -- to my benefit, I might add! -- but I thought it might be nice to find out what else is out there for writing tools that we like to use.)

I live for Scrivener. My writing (both fanfic and original) has become ten times more productive since I started using it instead of MS Word. I got a discount a couple of years ago from winning NaNoWriMo (I think they do that every year) and I've never looked back. It was Mac-only but now there's a Windows version, apparently.

I think Scrivener is super awesome! Although I don't use it for actual writing--I've used it to organize my research: saving in reference pictures from manga (what does character X's bedroom look like?) or useful articles from the web. I'm still on my trial period (I love that it's 30 days of use, not 30 consecutive days from when you install & first use it) but will probably cave & buy it once I finish that.

I use Scrivener for both the research and the. So good to get rid of all those random folders of images, notes, etc. and have everything right there in once place.

I dunno--to me it feels better to have them in two applications! Something about writing in Scrivener makes me want to squinch my face up, hehehe. I tried it for Yuletide & didn't like it v. much, though possibly whenever I buy the full version I'll try it again.
