WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 20 -- Monday

Hello on Monday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

Monday Discussion - Do you write from prompts?  Where do your prompts come from?

I wrote yesterday -- it was a short piece for a fandom community challenge, so I was able to complete it and post it to the queue for the reveal later this week. I also did further research for my prompt for a Yule Fic exchange, and made some decisions on names for my characters.

Speaking of prompts -- I write both stories that come from my own ideas, as well as from prompts supplied by someone else. The prompts are from a couple of fandom/writing related communities that run challenges throughout the year. Most of my short stuff is from prompts, while my longer WIPs are from my own head.

Making decent progress on the Stranger Things fic, but having trouble tying a ribbon round it. Also stagnating on the other WIPs, so will be putting writing mostly out of my head over the next week.

I historically wrote quite a few prompts; I was reluctant at first but decided it might help break the block on some WIPs, which it did. But it also really helped me stretch my muscles and comfort zone, since I often got requests for characters and even occasionally fandoms I wasn't at all familiar with.
