WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 23 -- Monday

Hello on Monday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?

       - I thought about my fic once or twice
       - I wrote
       - I did some planning and/or research
       - I edited
       - I've sent my fic off to my beta
       - I posted today!
       - I'm taking a break
       - I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Monday Discussion:  Have you ever lost a fic you were working on due to computer failure -- or if writing by hand, loss of your writing notebook?

I'm just getting started on my day, so no writing yet. Since I didn't write yesterday, I need to make that a priority today.

I have lost my work, due to computer failure as well as a lost notebook. One time my laptop started going bad in the midst of a writing session, and I was able to jolly it along enough to get my work backed up. Other times when I wasn't so lucky, I was able to reproduce much of what I lost, but it always feels like it's not quite the same when trying to go back.

Oh I've lost so much on computers and faulty external hard drives, including one chapter I had just written for my original novel that I was never able to rewrite in the same way which is probably why that novel remains unfinished to this day.

Not sure I will be writing today. Might get some planning done but might not write or even edit.

Back to planning after recovering from my injury. There is a lot of writing that needs to happen, though I have not been feeling up to it for most of this month.

Paranoia leads me to saving my data frequently. I have occasionally lost sections of a story, but never a complete piece, thankfully.
