WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 29 -- Saturday

Hello on Saturday!  What kind of a writing day has it been so far today -- or if today hasn't gotten going yet, how did you fare yesterday?

       - I thought about my fic once or twice
       - I wrote
       - I did some planning and/or research
       - I edited
       - I've sent my fic off to my beta
       - I posted today!
       - I'm taking a break
       - I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Saturday Discussion - Today is a good day for talking about general writing topics or posting snippets of what you are currently working on.  Feel free to share what you are working on, or whatever is on your mind with your writing today!

I wrote about 1000 words yesterday - 700 on a treat for a friend, and another 300 on an exchange fic that I'd gotten back from my beta. Today, I hope to finish up the treat because the exchange goes live tomorrow.

I've also been working on clearing out some old WIPs - I have things in my WIP folder that have been untouched for more than two years! Some of them are nearly complete, but others are nowhere near it and unlikely to ever be finished. It feels pretty good to let them go.

This is all the funnier to me because over the last few years, I've been increasingly reaching into my long-dormant directory and finishing off ideas that were thirteen years old, then sixteen, and now a new record at nineteen. Though I did also make a 'moribund' subdirectory to move stuff into that I'm as positive as I can be that they'll never go any further. Storage is cheap when it comes to things this small, and you never know when an old idea or turn of phrase may yet come in handy. Thankfully, I'm also doing better when it comes to finishing more recent ideas as well.
