WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 6 -- Friday

Hello on Friday!  Looking back at the day today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet -- how did it go?

   - I thought about my fic once or twice
   - I wrote
   - I did some planning and/or research
   - I edited
   - I've sent my fic off to my beta
   - I posted today!
   - I'm taking a break
   - I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Looking forward, how are you planning to spend your weekend?

   - I'm going to make up for not writing all week by having a writing marathon
   - I'm going to keep writing at my current rate and see how it goes
   - I have other plans, but I might have time to get some writing in
   - I'm going to take a break from writing

I'm just starting my day, but there will be writing happening today, and most likely a marathon throughout the weekend! I have something due tomorrow, but I if I can get it done and turned in by Monday, that will be good enough!

'Going for the long write' -- my 5 words to describe my writing on Thursday 😂 A pun on 'long ride' which is what I've heard triathlon atheletes call their long cycling trips. As for my current story, the duration of the events planned covers 4D3N. Quite short in real time but pretty long to expound on in prose. Done covering the first night and pleased with finishing the session just as a new day in the story begins.

On Friday, I wrote up events that took place in the morning of the first day. Much more words to write than I thought with three characters in the scene even if the action all takes place in one room (the PoV character's kitchen). Some extra thought to put into writing entrances and exits, blocking and changes in the dynamics when one of the characters is absent. In between describing the action, I had a clearer idea into what's going on with the PoV character -- let's just say we're going deep into repressed hot guy psychology. Meanwhile his man is getting more unhinged for multi-layered reasons, one of them being insecure over their mutual friend frying eggs while he hasn't bothered with learning to cook edible food 🙃

Also compiled the research I did on Weds into a neat table, published it on a Dreamwidth post and shared it to several comms!

Shall think on the side how to weave into these updates specific details of character interpretation done through writing even as the fandom will just be me, myself and I for the foreseeable future 😆

No writing today, but I did do Many Adulting Tasks and that, plus an exchange-wide due date extension, means I can write as much as I can tomorrow without worrying about other things.
