Making progress on my Palia fanfic, bit by bit. I've also been tracking my word counts for March and April, and they turned out to be better than I thought. And, I made my first Palia meta post, on things that don't relate directly to the fic I'm writing, but do inform it.

It's hard to tell how much I wrote today vs last night since it all kind of blurred together, but I'm fairly sure I got several thousand words done. This weird chapter-oneshot is climbing in on 9k and I'm a bit terrified.

I've been mostly procrastinating (many other things out of my control, but I'll live). I'm a little intimated by my own project, I haven't written a multi-chapter fic since I was 16 (I never finished it, though). Sometimes I feel I've bitten off more than I can chew, and so I keep procrastinating as a result. :/

I know what you mean! I haven't written a true multi-chap fic in a while. Something I found that seems to help is to approach each chapter like it's own oneshot (having an internal mini arc). While I haven't exactly flown through chapters, it has gotten me excited to start working on each individual chapter.

I've had a good week of progress with almost 3k words done (an accomplishment these days!), and I think today I'm going to need to take it a little easier. I may do some outlining later on to make sure I've got my order of operations right for the lead-up to the coming climax, but we'll see how my energy is! Been a busy weekend.

3k words in a week when you have a busy life is pretty good! Definitely take that break.

Today was the first day in at least one but more like two weeks that I have had energy to actually Do Things! I took full advantage of that to do a whole bunch of Administrative Life Tasks that I've been putting off for a while (the "starred" label in my main Gmail account is, uh, a little full), which did feel good! Unfortunately, writing was not one of them, so here I am again, end of the week/beginning of the new one, having done None Writing.

But the month is still early, so hopefully it'll pick up.

Planned and did some editing today (despite fighting a head cold in mortal kombat xD)

Been struggling with this fic for a while b/c I let the whole "no one's gonna read this b/c it's OC stuff" get to me, and I abandoned it for a while. After I revisited it, I realized I just wanted to see it done and over with, so I'm doing just that. xD
