On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being rubbish and 10 being great) how do you feel about your writing today?

Todays discussion:

[FEEL INSPIRED TO WRITE (Fanfic Flamingo) NO IDEAS, NO MOTIVATION; SURF NET INSTEAD]

This seems to be me everyday lately. Does this ever happen to you? If so you you have an coping mechanisms for it?

No writing again, too much going on. When I had some time to myself I wasn't motivated and surfed the net.... :-D

I'm definitely inspired to write and have many ideas and a good outline, but a lot of times I have so much going on i RL that my motivation to do something that even remotely resembles work leads me to goof off and surf instead. The only coping mechanism for that is to force myself to stop surfing and start writing. Once I get going on it, I can usually take off and get a lot accomplished. It's always a bit of a battle at first, though.

Today I plotted the next section of "Lethe's Curse", in which Bob gets Megabyte and the First Army into trouble that could well end up getting them all wiped off the map.

Being inspired but having no ideas/motivation is, for me, a form of Hell. When I run into that situation I tend to sit and stew... but the best tactic is usually to walk away from it, OR to write something short and silly just to break the logjam.

Just posted a chapter for one of my (too many) WIPs. Next up, a couple of short fics for a mini-fest.

I've found the only way I can keep myself from surfing the net is to close the browser. If I leave it open while I'm writing, I fall into "just one more email check" every ten minutes. When I keep it closed, I can prevent myself from firing it back up more than once an hour or so.

I didn't think I was going to manage to write anything today, but I actually scrounged up an idea for what to write. I hope I manage to do the same tomorrow. D:

Posting a day late again! Yesterday was pretty much a day off, while my betas did their fabulous work. Tonight, editing!

Thank you! No luck yet today, but the night isn't over yet. DX
