Date: Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 23:01 (UTC)I'm definitely inspired to write and have many ideas and a good outline, but a lot of times I have so much going on i RL that my motivation to do something that even remotely resembles work leads me to goof off and surf instead. The only coping mechanism for that is to force myself to stop surfing and start writing. Once I get going on it, I can usually take off and get a lot accomplished. It's always a bit of a battle at first, though.

If I leave it open while I'm writing, I fall into "just one more email check" every ten minutes. When I keep it closed, I can prevent myself from firing it back up more than once an hour or so.
