Check in: day 15

Hi everyone, how's today treating you?

I've been out enjoying the 'rare' sunshine here ;) and since I've been home I've got some research done along with a little editing and will be getting more done for the next few hours.

Discussion topic: finding mistakes after posting. Do you ever find mistakes you thought you'd fixed after posting? Have you ever posted an older version of a chapter and not realised?

I actually found out today via PM that a chapter of my fic has got a couple of vital scenes missing. Oops. I'll be fixing that as soon as I find the file with the version I intended to post.

Even the tiniest typos can drive me to distraction. Writing comment fic has been an exercise in anxiety-related restraint.

Right now I'm staring at the progress I made on Saturday and hoping I can follow it through. It's a tangled bit of plot and plot isn't usually my forte. Maybe I'll glance at some older stuff, too, to refresh my memory.

I'm not writing lately, even when I have time. "Life is too much with me" as my mom used to say. ;-)

A lot of times the mistakes I find after posting are just typos, but I do remember a time or two when I posted the wrong version. Fortunately, discerning readers called it to my attention. It hasn't happened for a long time, I think my use of Jarte to compose my chapters helps me keep my work better organized so I know where I am when I pick up again with writing.
