If you're inclined towards discussion, why don't you tell us a little about your current fandom(s) and what drew you to them?

Well, I am into the new Star Trek - I like the new universe, I like the new villain even better.
Writing a lot of my fanfic these days, mostly however I seem to be editing chapters to get it just right.

Otherwise I am still into Avengers, Charlie's Angels or whatever fandom I ever liked - usually focused around interesting characters (at least interesting to me and no it is not always the bad guy) occasionally the world for its own sake.

Yeah, I saw Into Darkness the other day and I have a vicious "John Harrison" plotbunny I need to get written now. This may turn me into a Trekkie, lol. Though I'll never leave HP behind I think.

I often find the villains/antagonists the most interesting characters and the need to figure out their backstory/motivations drives a lot of my writing. But not always.

Were you into Trek before the new movies? I'm curious because I never really got into TOS until the 2009 movie, though I did watch TNG occasionally. Comparing the original movies and the new ones has been interesting.

Well, I am not strictly a Trekkie by the definition of some, I guess.

I grew up with TNG, I own the entire show, I still love it despite all it's flaws. I liked the first five seasons of DS9, I adore most of the films (the newest being my favourite).

Don't like Voyager, don't like what DS9 turned into, did not get into the one was with Archer ... so yeah *shrugs* I am nitpicky ;)

When you post your story feel free to point me into the direction (I usually read all Khan fanfics on AO3 that are not crossovers or involve Mpreg ;) - so I might find it anyway if you post there ;) )

I get nitpicky with fandoms too. I've seen a few episodes of Voyager and DS9, and I liked DS9 better. I also re-watched Wrath of Khan the other day and remembered why I liked it when I caught it on TV the first time. Though Cumberbatch has really given the role a new twist I like.... ;)

I'll post a link, yes! I'm basically planning an AU one-shot where Khan gets his crew back and wakes them up - we'll see where it goes. Going now to check out your Khan post.

BTW, if you like to discuss John Harrison I made post about his motivations on my dw here - love to hear some more thoughts of other writers on it.
