WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 30 -- Thursday

Greetings on Thursday!  What kind of a writing day has it been so far today?

• I thought about my fic once or twice
• I wrote
• I did some planning and/or research
• I edited
• I've sent my fic off to my beta
• I posted today!
• I'm taking a break
• I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

For Discussion:  Have you ever realized that the short piece you just wrote that was meant to be a one-shot is the perfect opening for a longer WIP?  What do you do when that happens?  Do you go with it, or do you ignore it because you already have enough writing to work on?

I've had another day of not writing, but at least I'm checking in this time. It's just a lack of brain power, and a lack of enthusiasm that is doing it so I'm hoping a change of routine tomorrow can get be back into the swing of things.

I can't say that's ever happened to me, wanted to write a sequel to something, yeah, but I tend to plan most of my fic pretty thoroughly these days so if I think that might happen it tends to become a longer piece from the very start.
