Discussion: playlists. Do you make playlists for you fic? Does having music on prove to be too distracting?

I sometimes make playlists but only when I'm certain that a fic is going to be chaptered, for shorter pieces I tend to put my iPod on shuffle or listen to the local radio station.

Yep, I've done that. Doing that now with my latest WIP as a matter of fact.

I have a list of songs I've put together that seem to contribute to better writing -- I guess that would be a playlist! Sometimes I listen to streaming music from an online radio station, but only if it's playing music with no singing/words. Songs with words are right out, I can't concentrate.
