What's the longest thing you've ever written? What do you like or dislike about writing at that length?

The longest thing I've written is my WIP, Rheotaxis. That's currently at 190,000 words. I like having space for multiple plot threads and to investigate what a lot of different characters are doing. The length is also letting me create and explore an alien culture.

My longest fic is If You Asked at 19,559 words. I liked that I could tie up several loose ends from the series, and work my own theories into it. With this fic I disliked that it took me over a year to finish it with a complete outline before I wrote the first scenes.
