What's the longest thing you've ever written? What do you like or dislike about writing at that length?

The longest thing I've written is my WIP, Rheotaxis. That's currently at 190,000 words. I like having space for multiple plot threads and to investigate what a lot of different characters are doing. The length is also letting me create and explore an alien culture.

I did some editing on a shorter WIP, but that was slow-going. I wasn't inspired to work on my outline more.

The longest I've ever written is 30k. What I don't like about longer fic is that it takes me ages to finish them, since I'm a slow writer in general.
