Wednesday Check-in

I missed yesterday's check-in post -- sorry!  Did anyone have anything encouraging to report, or was Tuesday a day of drawing your breath to try again today?

Here's a worthy quote on writing from a favorite author of mine:

Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary,
how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.

~Nathaniel Hawthorne

That said, how is it going for you today in combining those words in potent fashion?  Are you getting words actually written?  Are you looking for the right words by doing research, fact checking or outlining?  Are you thinking about your story while in the midst of other work that has become more demanding at the moment?  Let us know how it's going, so we can rejoice, encourage or commiserate with you!

Nope, nothing accomplished yesterday... we'll see how today goes. Real life has been obfuscating my words more than usual, too.

I'm really enjoying the quotes, by the way!

No writing yesterday, but today I wrote a draft of a ficlet for [community profile] fic_promptly -- I'm really finding it useful, some days, to just go through their lonely prompts & pick one & try to write it. Most of the time there's nothing good about the random stuff I come up w/, but it's still writing fic. And some of it is revisable!

I only wish I had the energy/tenacity to go through their lonely prompts more often.
