Discussion: weaknesses. As writer's we all our strengths and often use those but what about our weaknesses. What aspects of writing do you struggle with? Is it something that you try and work on?

My main weakness is descriptions because I either have too much or too little and it can be frustrating, especially when I'm editing and I can't quite pinpoint what is wrong with a scene. I also struggle with humour, I love it but I can't seem to write all out humour but a one-liner or a briefly humorous situation come quite easily.

Endings. I always always feel like my endings are rushed. I've written two multi-chapter fics and for both of them I felt that they were getting too long and dragging on and the endings of both got rushed so I could declare them finished. But even my shorter works suffer from having their endings somewhat rushed.

It's something I need to work on, especially with multi-chapter stuff, but as I don't write many of those I'm not sure how best to work on it - apart from reminding myself not to rush the ending but let things wind down naturally.

I have a lot of trouble writing action scenes. I often can't picture what's supposed to be happening, and I tend to skim over the details that I ought to be providing.

I also have trouble writing humor.

I struggle with just about everything, depending on the story and the situation. Sometimes action scenes are easy, sometimes they make me want to tear my hair out. Sometimes the dialogue just flows and sometimes it's like pulling teeth. Sometimes I get the descriptions spot on and sometimes I'm like, "Uh, what?" The one thing I really, consistently struggle with is romantic and shippy stuff. I have several ships that I like, but writing realistic romantic stuff (especially dialogue) always seems to be beyond me.
