WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 2 -- Thursday

Hello on Thursday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today?

For Discussion:  Do you have an ongoing WIP?  How long have you been working on it?  What made you start writing it in the first place?

I have several ongoing WIPs, the longest running of which has been going for 12 years (the last few years I've not added chapters as often, so that is extending how long it takes to finish it!).  I started writing it because I wanted to fill in some gaps that were not really dealt with in canon, and I also wanted to explore what would happen to the story if a character who dies in canon is instead rescued to continue living and taking part in the plot.

I'm thinking about my fic today, but as expected, my time is filling up with other things. I'll either ignore my to-do list and focus on writing instead because I am so far behind in it, or I will push forward with my to-do list and get it all done so I can have the weekend to concentrate on writing. The latter seems more likely!

I've been mulling over my story. I still don't know where to start this chapter or, really, what needs to happen in it. I need some character development, but I'm not sure what events might prompt it, so I've been trying to come up with situations into which to throw the character in hopes that something will happen.

I have one WIP that I started posting about thirteen years ago. I haven't posted a new chapter in about a year because that's the story I'm stuck on. I have several other long WIP that I've kept strictly to my hard drive because I want to finish the one I already started posting before I commit myself to a new project.

I'm currently arguing with myself about whether or not to sign up for Yuletide. I desperately want to, but it will mean, most likely, that I do no more on my WIP, and I really need to make progress on that.

I wrote yesterday and I may not post it because I had a crap day and was getting some negative thoughts out of my head. I'll likely read it through another day when I'm in a better way and decide then.

I have one on going WIP at the moment and I started working on it in February of this year, so not too long and I do have new chapters to add to what I have already posted but RL keeps hitting me hard and leaving with less time to do the updates. I started writing it because the idea is one that I kept coming back to and I decided that if I didn't at least attempt it, then I wouldn't bother to at all.
