Do you have a preferred type of fic to write? That is, are you all about the PWP or the casefic or the curtainfic or some other possibility? Do you read the same sorts of things that you write?

I write a lot of angsty stuff, and I frequently have two characters simply talking to each other without much else happening. I don't tend to read much fic these days (though I'm hoping to change that), so it's hard to say what I read.

When I was a young 'ficcer (... and I admit that's been a while), I was all about writing the same kinds of sprawling epics that got me into the business in the first place. Unfortunately, those don't really attract the readers in today's 'ficdom, so I find myself writing a lot of smut instead, and in much smaller installments, but I'll occasionally let a little of the old epicist sneak through.
