Check-In – Day 28

Three more days left of 2017. 2018 is looking mighty appealing. What have you been doing?

— Thinking. Maybe a little, maybe a lot.
— Writing.
— Planning and / or researching.
— Editing.
— Sending things to the beta.
— Posting!
— Relaxing, taking a break, etc.
— Other stuff-ing. Look at the comment.

Question: Do you ever write humor or parody?

Still just scribbling vague snippets while I battle off the last remnants of flu.

I've written explicit parody a few times in my younger years. About half my stuff these days, no matter how serious, has at least a bit of humor here and there. But it wasn't until very recently that I wrote an almost 100% humor story. It's cracky as heck and completely unrealistic, but I'm uncharacteristically very happy with the result and actually quite proud, and think it deserves all the awards. So for your consideration: Breaking Zim: The Box Cutter Rebellion. Because there's more than one way to weaken humanity for the coming conquest.

I often have a bit of humor in my stories, but it's been awhile since I wrote straight humor. In my early days, I had a fairly successful run of humorous conversations between myself as author and one of my main characters.
