WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 31 -- Sunday

Greetings and Happy New Year's Eve! It's a brand new week for our WIP Challenge -- and a new month starts tomorrow, so we have lots of beginnings to celebrate, along with the ending of the old year.

What kind of a writing day has it been today -- or yesterday, if today hasn't gotten going yet?
  •         I thought about my fic once or twice
  •         I wrote
  •         I did some planning and/or research
  •         I edited
  •         I've sent my fic off to my beta
  •         I posted today!
  •         I'm taking a break
  •         I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment
Sunday Discussion - Today is the last day of the old year.  How do you feel about how your writing year went during 2017?  Is there anything you plan on changing in the new year that will make your writing better or more effective?

I managed to write a couple of very short fics, my first in a number of years.

The only change I plan to make is to write longer fics although I am feeling very rusty.

Scribbled a little, but very inconsequential as I'm still getting over the flu.

I didn't write anything this year until September when the floodgates opened. Although most of those are shorts, there was one of decent length (10k+ words). Like [personal profile] tamaraaeknight, this year I'll be trying to get back into longer works. Still waffling on whether to post anything to FFN -- indecision is a terrible thing.

I jumped into a new fandom at the tail end of the year and managed to write roughly 11k in fanfic in the past 10 days, which is great progress, considering the last time I wrote a fanfic was in 2015, and that was only a short 3k thing.

In 2018 I'm planning on doing scheduled writing sessions 5 days a week and getting word counts down no matter what. I hope to finish an ongoing thing I'm working on in Hannibal fandom!
