WIP checkin--day 26
Hello, ficcers! Zuko
terajk here. How goes the fic?:

Does your fic grow exponentially? Is every word like pulling teeth? Some combination of the both?

My fics do tend to grow, especially when I'm trying to write a drabble.
I experience both phenomena at various times.

These flamingos know me well. ;-) It's one or the other with me! Usually, it's like pulling teeth to get started, but once I get going, it flows and grows at a nice rate.

My fics start out at a brisk pace -- I can churn out loads of words for the beginnings of stories. It's after that things get tricky sometimes. ^^;;

Anyhoo, I hope you can get that story all spiffied out.

Right now writing my wip's like pulling teeth. But it's always the case when I'm editing my wip.

It's a combination of both, depending on how inspired I am with the fic. Sometimes I can churn out several thousand words, no problem. Other times, I get stuck and it's a struggle to get a few hundred words. But yeah, depends on the fic. Some want to be written far easier than others.

(Although the DS9 novzat - 'scuse me, novelization - that's slowly turning from a quick-written and blathery first draft into a much shorter second draft seems pretty familiar. *g* OTOH, the 1500 words of inexplicable stuff I never would have expected to write? Highly puzzling.)

Oh man, the fanfic flamingo is so right, LOL. There were many fics that were meant to be short that turned long and fics that I know will require a few scenes but I wasn't able to get much written. I think it depends on the fic and if I feel I can write that scene well or if I'm very anxious about it.

Wrote about 300 words for the other one.

Usually, my fic grows at a steady pace. I think this is because, most of the time, I have something of a general idea of what the story will be like.
Well, that is, unless I'm writing something for an auction winner in which case it takes me eons to get a rough draft done. :-/
