Discussion: time management. How do you manage to fit writing time into your daily life?

Time management is something I struggle with constantly. I have not done well at fitting writing in, unless it is writing for my job and that is not fun writing. I do want to make more of an effort to include fic writing in my schedule, and not just let it be "when I have time or feel like it."

These days I fit writing time in by not having much of a daily life and being more of a homebody than ever, especially during the cold season. This is a slight exaggeration, but not much. I've always grabbed moments here and there even back when I was spending some dedicated hours each day on writing.

Yesterday I had a small inspiration for my current WIP that's completely in character for everyone involved and makes it just a touch more evil, which is always fun with smut. So today I'm implementing that idea.

Well, not only did that implementation go swimmingly, I'm sitting there writing and reminding myself it's smut, you don't need to explain or rationalize it past the basic premise if you don't want to and countering with my usual but it makes it so much better, when out of the blue I realize that what I'm writing is in fact a perfect explanation and justification which wholly fits in the context of the surrounding events. If only it could be this easy when I'm actually trying.

Also, my working title was my semi-usual 'song title or lyric and be rolling my eyes at myself', when I suddenly notice something, add one bit of punctuation, and become quite pleased at how it changes the meaning in multiple ways and makes it funnier. At least from my growingly dementiae perspective.
