This month I really really need to finish my last outstanding help_japan fic. I got some great cheerleading on it last month, which helped kick me forward a little, but I need to get back in the saddle w/it. It's largely done, it just needs a bunch of wordsmithing & a proper ending & stuff -- so not terribly much, considering... I just need to do it! (It's K-On!, if anyone else is in the fandom & wants to cheer me on. :D )

I'm also hoping to do lots of stuff for eastasianfandomgiftbag (& would love to see some more wishlists going up, too, if anyone is interested!). Today I wrote some more on the 1 fic idea I have for a wishlist there so far. It's a ton of fun to write, it's... just turning out to be a longer, more involved fic than I intended. Which is good! But it will take me more energy than I thought. I hope I can finish it!

Other than that, I'd really like to finish part 3 of my OT3 series & get it posted. In the past week I've managed some decent edits for it & did some tricky structural rearranging; hopefully I can keep that going!

This month I'll be working on drabbles for the third annual Robin Hood Drabble Fest. Already have two under my belt, actually. :)

And I'll be continuing my revisions of my original fic WIP. I'm hoping to finish it so that I can finally submit it for publication.

I'm dreading just a bit some of the revisions. I've got some work to do toward the end of the story, decisions to make, etc. and then I've got to carry out my plans.

I'll be working on my big bang fic mostly but there might also be a couple of ficlets as well, I have ideas for those and really roughly written scribbles in my notebook. The BB takes priority over everything else.

Getting the time to sit down and write. I have a presentation to do and essay to submit on the 12th! but thankfully my other deadlines are mid-January. Will have to use my timing skills a lot.

I'm looking forward to getting a decent dent made into my provisional word count for my BB but I'm also dreading the same thing.

A little help with research :) I've been looking and coming up blank so far. I'm looking for info about children's panels and when they were first introduced and what else they've been called prior to current legislation. Oh yeah it is Scots law. Hopefully someone else has better google-fu than I have so far with it. It is for my BB.

I wrote a drabble today! And I finished and posted a fic for a friend! AND I'm psyched for my white_lotus Lunar New Year assignment! :D :D :D Yay!

This month, I shall be working on the rough draft of my very first big bang fic. I'm nervous about my ability to write something so long, but I couldn't pass up the premise. (It's for bigbang_mixup, in which the story is inspired by a mix.) At the same time, though, I'm excited for the challenge.

I'm working on finally finishing the editing of that fic that has been hanging around for, oh, two months now... also, I plan on writing - and posting! - four fics until Christmas. Because I always take months with even the shortest fic and I wanna change that. :D

This month will just be more of last month. Two fics in progress. One is getting longer, the other one I open and stare at. But maybe that'll change! I saw a few challenges, too, that I might pick up.

My goal this month is to finish something. Anything, really. A chapter, a whole fic, a drabble, as long as it's finished. I have a WIP I haven't touched in ages that I'd like to get back at. And, of course, there's always the evil WIP. I think I'm also going to go for a more modest 15K words. I didn't make it to 15K last month, but I have a lot more time off this month, so I think I can do it.

I too will aim at getting my help_japan fic finished. Able to get quite a bit done during the last few days of November, so I hope I can still keep the momentum going. Also I'll be focusing on editing Chapters 4, 5, and 6 of my Big Bang fic.

A little dreading over the many edits I'll have to do for Big Bang and help_japan, but it'll make the overall story polished and better in the end.

Took a rest day yesterday.

The three fics I'll be working on this month are the same as last. I suspect at least one of them is going to be the most cliche-ridden thing I've ever written but I'm actually looking forward to it. Everything is just plodding along at the moment, the main thing I need to focus on is actually sitting down to write, rather than just wait for inspiration.

Because I'm procrastinating ;D The wikipedia page on children's hearings has a good bit on the history (yes, I know it's wikipedia but it's backed up by this bit on the aberdeenshire council site and the legislation site here details the social work act that formed the children's hearings (part three is specifically about children's hearings and the whole thing can be read in pdf format)). I get the impression that they have always been called Children's hearings but sometimes are referred to as Children's panels.

This month I'll be working on writing fic, rather than worrying about not getting the editing finished. I think its an essential so that I keep my hand in and also hope it will fuel the editing.

I'm also aiming to do fic-only 750 words each day.

As I mentioned before, 750 words has once or twice thrown my words away by accident - so I decided to cut and paste - from Wordpad. When I did this I received a message telling me I'd just cut and pasted and it would mess with my stats!

750w does provide a lot of stats. The funny thing is the analysis of your mood and personality according to the words you use. Because I'm now writing fic rather journaling, the results have changed radically. I'm glad that, in the short time Ive been writing in the character POV on 750w, Ive managed to convey an different personality and mood...shows he's not a self insertion at least!

Oooh, good luck! I admit I am too scared to do a big bang, so I will be cheering you on as someone taking the plunge! & the idea of the mixes sounds like a really fun one -- hopefully enough of a prompt to give you ideas, but loose enough to give you the leeway to do what you want.

Four fics before Christmas sounds like an awesome goal! I tend to sit on my fics for a long time, too. ^^;;; I really need to break out of that at least once in a while. Good luck!!

That's scary about 750 Words not saving your words right! I have a ctrl-a, ctrl-c, ctrl-s reflex that I do every few minutes or so on that site out of just that kind of paranoia. Plus if I end up writing things for a WIP, or that might become a WIP, then they're already ready to copy back into another document when I'm done w/the site.

I think the only thing about your stats it messes up is the timing -- I copy-pastaed once when the site was acting up, so I wrote everything offline first, & it didn't count it in the "your fastest day" stats.

I do find looking at the stats hilarious, especially when it reflects the problems & preoccupations of my characters. :D (I don't know how once or twice it's gotten that I was preoccupied by religion, b/c I never write my characters thinking about religion & they don't even say "God" or whatever! If there's a lot of stuff about life & death, it comes up w/me being preoccupied by death, so that's separate from religion...)

I looked at the tags on little_details before I asked but I might try it again and ask if I need any more. I didn't know about factfinding on here, will have a look later on.
