How has writing been going?

Discussion: What are your favorite genres to write but you're not a fan of reading? What about the other way around?

Sadly, no writing today. Brain has shut down all non-essential functions after a 2+ hour dentist appointment. x_x

Romance and/or smut are my main writings (in that, no matter what, most stories end up there, lololol), but I really no longer read much of either, with only very limited exceptions. As for reading, I love mysteries (my comfort genre), but, although I've written a couple, I don't find them as fun to write, or at least not fun to write as often as some other stuff.

Thursday was a good day for writing. I made some decent progress on my justmarriedexchange fic, even though a lot of the exposition will need to be cut for the final draft.

A few years ago, I faced a minor crisis when I realized that my two longest fics were age difference het, which is pretty weird, considering I usually have a super negative reaction to that in media. But I guess the sense of control that comes from being the writer negates that, in a way.

As for the other way around, I admit to having a mortal terror of writing murder mysteries. Some day, though.
