Date: Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 20:15 (UTC)Also I feel like I'm at a point w/my WIPs where I don't need to just churn out words -- I guess I have basic rough drafts for the ones I'm working on -- instead I need to, y'know, edit. & solve plot problems. Which takes much more energy, augh.
So: my writing day in 3 words or less would be "nonexistent."
A successful day of writing is one where I've either been able to crank out lots & lots of first draft stuff or been able to spend quality time editing a draft. Better yet if the editing isn't just first-pass stuff (which is relatively easy for me) but editing that solves a problem, or the last editing before posting...

Discussion topic...That depends, actually. :) If I had a goal and reached or exceeded it, then obviously, that's a successful day. But there are other random things that can make or break a writing day.

Doing anything that actually shows progress or improvement. Writing or finalizing even one paragraph counts, so does attempting a writing style, POV, genre, or type of character I'm not familiar or comfortable with.

It could be a day where the words just flow easily and everything is perfect, or it could be a day where I figure out a problem or get past some kind of block. It could just be a high word count. I think it depends a lot on my expectations going in.
