Greetings fellow WIPers! (... that will never not be funny.) How is it going? Come share your progress!

are you
-writing

-resting
-something else?

How would you describe your writing today in three words or less?

Discussion question: what would you call a "successful day of writing"?

Two hour train journey today. Hopefully that means I can get some writing done. Inspiration, don't let me down.

No fic today! I've got limited computer time, plus the landlord's supposed to come over later (to fix some radiators that don't work >_< ) & I just feel generally sort of jumpy & distracted whenever I'm waiting for him to show up! (It could be now, it could be after 9, who knoooooows.)

Also I feel like I'm at a point w/my WIPs where I don't need to just churn out words -- I guess I have basic rough drafts for the ones I'm working on -- instead I need to, y'know, edit. & solve plot problems. Which takes much more energy, augh.

So: my writing day in 3 words or less would be "nonexistent."

A successful day of writing is one where I've either been able to crank out lots & lots of first draft stuff or been able to spend quality time editing a draft. Better yet if the editing isn't just first-pass stuff (which is relatively easy for me) but editing that solves a problem, or the last editing before posting...

I finished up a drabble, I thought up a new, more apropos, title for my original fic/WIP, and I wrote a simple back-cover blurb for use in the contest entry form. Other than that, nothing on said original WIP. :(

My writing today in three words...? hit or miss

Discussion topic...That depends, actually. :) If I had a goal and reached or exceeded it, then obviously, that's a successful day. But there are other random things that can make or break a writing day.

I've been muzzy-headed for the last two weeks, so not much writing at all.

A successful day of writing:
Doing anything that actually shows progress or improvement. Writing or finalizing even one paragraph counts, so does attempting a writing style, POV, genre, or type of character I'm not familiar or comfortable with.

Today was Kill Your Darlings Day, apparently. I cut out so many parts I was really proud of. ;_; I also wrote about 250 new words today, but I have a feeling most of them are not long for this world. Also, shortly before I threw in the towel tonight, I realized that the climactic moment of the scene I'm working on - the part I have been spending all week building up towards - isn't going to work out, for various reasons. Now I have no idea how I need to end this scene. I have a feeling I'll be brainstorming a lot tomorrow. Despite that, I think that, in three words or less, I would describe my writing today as "lots of fun."

For me, a successful day of writing could be one of several things. It could be a day where the words just flow easily and everything is perfect, or it could be a day where I figure out a problem or get past some kind of block. It could just be a high word count. I think it depends a lot on my expectations going in.

Over 600 words of my help_japan. I was able to finish up one scene, though I feel it could still use some work. Tomorrow unsure if I'll get moving with my help_japan fic as it could be a chance my beta might give my a couple chapters of my Big Bang back to me. If that's not the case then I'll continue with my help_japan fic as I want to get that fic finished as soon as possible.

A successful day of writing for me would be if I got some writing done and able to move the story along if it's a long work.It more or less depends what writing goal I'm trying to achieve that day.

I used 750words to brainstorm a prompt. It revealed a whole hoard of problems I might run into if I went for it. I still kind of find the prompt cute though.

A good writing day...I know it when its happened, its usually something different each time, I c&n't define it. Perhaps that's what a good writing day needs to do: surprise me.
