Welcome to the comm! :) I've joined in spite of the fact that I've written many MANY pieces of fanfic before (my DS9 count alone stands at around 60 on AO3), and the admins have let me take part in the latest challenge anyway (for which I thank them wholeheartedly), so I don't think you have much to worry about on that score.
I'm sorry I can't help you with your writing issues: none of the fandoms you listed are fandoms in which I have much knowledge or interest. I do wish you the best of luck with your Sherlock premise though, and hope you find folks who can lend a hand.
