What are you planning to do on your fic over the weekend, if anything?

For discussion, a somewhat well-used topic but one worth repeating: music! Do you have to listen to music when you write? Does it have to be silent? Somewhere in between? Feel free to linkdrop whatever you've been using as inspirational music lately.

I haven't written anything in almost a week: work pressures have been horrific, plus what little time I might have had for writing has been eaten up re-reading the existing 143,000 words of "When the Farsei Blooms" preparatory to starting a new chapter of that fic at some point in the near future.

I generally don't listen to music while I'm writing: I simply find it too distracting, because I have a tendency to make up stories to go along with each piece of music. I can, however, have the TV on while writing and easily divide my attention between the story I'm working on and whatever's happening on screen (usually a programme on The Food Network, or Headline News). :)

ETA: Wow, I actually ended up writing a ~1680-word short story in the A.I.: Artificial Intelligence universe, called "Potentiality" (Professor Hobby/Gigolo Joe, PG-13). Yahoo! :D

I can't write when listening to music, but I get a lot of ideas and clear a lot of mental roadblocks when I have music on.

I finish my gift fic. Now I need to move on to the unpleasant editing stage. So many fics waiting for me to edit, so little motivation to do everything.

I don't listen to music when I'm writing because it distracts me. I have written fics based on songs though.

Late to the party. I got nothing done in terms of writing yesterday (but I am keeping track of how many days I miss in the vain hope of one day catching up my wordcount), but RL was pretty productive.

Regarding music, I have a hell of a time writing without it. However, the stuff I listen to tends to depend on what I'm writing. Sometimes it's relevant to the story, sometimes it's not, and it can be anything from classical pieces to something by Five Finger Death Punch (although usually it's Within Temptation, Epica, Amaranthe, Abney Park, or Kate Price). In particular, I listen to Epica's "The Score: An Epic Journey" and Kate Price's "Songs from the Witches' Wood" a lot when I'm writing. I have Calling Me Home from the latter on right now, actually.
