How are you getting on today? Did you write, plot, research, or maybe something completely different?

If/when you ship, is it usually based on what makes sense in canon, or do you like to play with more improbable combinations? :)

I finished 3 fics over the weekend so I'm happy with that. Yesterday I spent a few hours reading through Don't Fade Into The Midnight and found a timeline jump (around a month) in chapter 1 that isn't explained, so I'm going to write a wee fill-in-the-blanks scene to account for it later today.

I prefer the improbable ships to canon ships because it gives me a bigger playground than sticking solely with canon does, the non canon pairing often make more sense to me. When I do write canon pairings I tend to keep it gen.

Writing an improbable pairing and making it plausible can be a lot of fun. I once selected a fic for Remix based on finding the pairing implausible and wanting to see what I would do with trying to make it work. That said, I don't have a talent for writing crack fics, so there are things too far out there for me to try them.

And no new words today. I've been trying to get my act together to ask my beta readers for advice on fixing what's broken with the chapter. That's the goal for tomorrow.
