Hello community that I found in my random early morning wanderings of Dreamwidth!

I think that I must be cheating as technically I have written fanfiction before, but I have never written anything of decent length. So, please help me fix this.

Expanda description of my fandoms )

Now onwards to the important bit: I am trying to write a Sherlock chapter fic. It's going to be based on book!canon and BBC series!verse, which means that I cannot tell you the premise or give you excerpts unless you have seen ALL of the BBC series up to the series 2 finale. This sort of puts me at a disadvantage as I desperately need some cheerleaders, and more importantly, a beta who will put up with my shoddy ability to hold POV beyond 2000 words.

If you have read all of this and would like to know more, I feel it would be best to set up some sort of PM conversation or e-mail thread. I do not wish to spoil anything for random fandom lurkers who may come across this community, as I did, at the wee hours of the morning.

Mostly I just want to tell someone my premise and have them tell me to stop writing (or continue, if you prefer)! Ta.

Hi, I'm Alex.

I'm not sure how I found this comm, but after scrolling through a few pages of posts, I'm glad I did. I'm a quasi-beginning fanfic writer, which means I have a lot more written than I've ever posted. I'm also very wordy and think in long, drawn-out plots.

Right now, I play exclusively in the Harry Potter fandom (I'm a Snarry girl) and have a novel half-written. For this work, I've broken my long-standing rule of 'write first, post when completed' and actually have a genuine WIP that I'm desperate to finish.

I need help and motivation, which is why I'm here. My writing sounds too clinical and horribly juvenile, so anything that will help me improve is welcome. I'm far too late to join this month's challenge, but I'm eagerly awaiting the next one.
