Greetings on Monday!  It's the first day of a new writing month, which means we have thirty whole days after this one to accomplish our July writing goals!

How are you making use of your time today for writing?
  • I thought about my fic once or twice
  • I wrote
  • I did some planning and/or research
  • I edited
  • I've sent my fic off to my beta
  • I posted today!
  • I'm taking a break
  • I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment
For Discussion:  I always feel particularly optimistic when a new month begins.  It's an opportunity for me to forget the frustrations of the month that just finished and start over with renewed vigor to accomplish my writing goals.  Is it the same for you, or different?  Is there anything in particular you are looking forward to this month in your writing plans?  Is there anything you are worried about that might keep you from writing?

Is anyone going to be online on the 4th? We usually don't go anywhere or do anything special aside from having fireworks at home that night.

I traded working Thursday for tomorrow, and am behind on some things which I'd like to make a dent in on Wednesday. But I know I'm going to be desperately needing word counts, so I thought I might try to host a sprint or a session or something online, if possible.

I've never done this before. Have yet to even BE in a sprint or a session or a war, though they sound like such fun.

Can't narrow down a time right now either. I thought I might open a room, post that it's available, and check-in occasionally as I write and otherwise go through the day.

How do I do this? There are several sprint tags, especially the "how to"s. The more I follow links, the more confused I get. I also very faintly remember someone posting that the way we had been setting up chat rooms to do sprints can't be done that way any longer, and I haven't found that posting yet, so I'm more confused.

Is it possible to consolidate/organize all the sprint tags into one? Maybe all old threads under one tag and current under another? And/or could we create a "how to" posting here on Dreamwidth instead of having to link to LJ? With all their changes, I'm surprised that page hasn't disappeared.

Wondering,
Theresa
