Do members of your family know that you write fanfic? Have they every expressed interest in seeing your work?
My family knows, in general, and my husband often reads my stuff when it's G or T rated and in a fandom he knows. My daughter thinks writing is super tedious and can't understand why anyone would voluntarily do it. My parents and siblings are completely uninterested. My in-laws kind of vaguely know but have very little concept of what fic is (though my SIL may be getting an idea-- Her thirteen year old has started writing fic, Doctor Who and original fic on Wattpad). I don't go out of my way to talk about it. Mostly, my in-laws know I write Chronicles of Narnia stories because I know they'll approve of Narnia.
