I've spent a little time yesterday and today updating the community info. If I've missed something off on the new version, or if something looks wonky wording wise - I'm dyslexic so it might, let me know and I'll edit it. Again, this has been a task that I've been putting off for ages.

writethisfanfic is a community for helping you with working on your fan fiction. We aim to provide support and resources for everyone. Introduce yourself, comment on any of the daily check in posts, volunteer.

During the first week of the month we have a challenge sign up post for those who need to work towards something, this is optional but some members find this useful. We also have a volunteers sign up post for helping out with hosting the daily check in post, these generally run Sunday to Saturday with Saturday been the day for sharing snippets and seeking help.
These recurring monthly posts are always the community sticky posts, links are provided to the previous months posts when these are updated.

Promoting other writing communities and challenges – this is absolutely fine, please let me know first.

We have a webchat channel www.slashnet.org/webclient/writethisfanfic but I don’t know how active this is or even if it’s still been used by members.

A community to help you write fanfiction. Our goal is to provide support & resources for any fic writers, but particularly those wanting to write their first (or almost first) fanfiction.
Introduce yourself, grab a seat, post short passages you're not sure about, talk to us about your dream of joining this particular challenge you're not too sure about, share your tips, ask for a beta, offer your services as one - the possibilities are endless!

2. Constructive criticism is welcome. Personal attacks are not.
3. We take fanfiction seriously - if you think it's a good way to practice for original fiction, it's your right, but don't belittle the opinions & fears of those posting here.
