Last night got my Reverse Big Bang fic for fmabigbang finished! Final word count a little over 5,500. I have more than enough time to do a pinch hit, but want to see how fast I can finish my gift_homestuck fic. Speaking of which, got my assignment for the HS giftexchange this evening. Spend it mostly looking back at some scenes/panels as I think I have an idea which prompt I'll use.
I don't think I ever confused canon with an AU fic. I do however sometimes have whatever happened in some fics as my headcanon, though.
Machines of Freedom by amalnahurriyeh, everytime I read it I have to remind myself that it's not canon and Casey doesn't actually exist in the X-Files world :(
I've been chatting with some writer friends about writing, and that has me more motivated to get back to work. Now if Real Life would just cooperate....
I actually have a problem similar to this with my own AU that I have been writing forever -- it's so intricately woven with canon that I sometimes forget that my main character is actually dead in the real story. ;-)
Oh, yes, I know what you mean: in my ~main fic, certain characters are in a relationship and have a child, and I write in that world so much that it's hard to remember it isn't actually canon :P

Thank you so much for reccing this :) I started reading it last night and I didn't want to stop. It is hard to find good post ITWB fics, and good XF fic in general.
