It is monday, for some people the least favourite day of the week....
How was this day for you I hope
- it was productive (either for writing or personal goals)
- happy and fullfilling
- full of compliments from readers and betas
I hope it was NOT
- unproductive and full of frustration
- real life standing in the way of things you really wanted to do
- you asking yourself: Is that fever or just high temperature?
On tv shows I noticed this trend that the problems the characters have to face arising out of their own stupidity. (People getting on your spaceship and immobilizing it because you never check your newly arrived cargo for the acutal content etc.) Meaning otherwise cabable and smart people doing really dumb things that they then often solved by suddenly being utterly brilliant.
What are you doing with this?

What are you doing with this?
- Do you also have your smart characters do extremly dumb stuff and make obvious mistakes to get the ball rolling?
- If you have a fandom where that does not happen regularly do you use that plot device yourself?
- Or do you rather like to keep mistakes in line with the professionalism of the characters shown otherwise?
