Happy Friday, my fellow wip-ers! How're things today? If the writing's just not happening, are you having any luck bouncing ideas around, or editing, or doing canon research? (Or procrastinating?)

I did a number of comment fic on fic_promptly and I wrote 750 words. Turtle speed, but at least it's writing.

I'm still snippeting away on 750 Words. Got a totally surprising fic started in there today--no idea where it's going or where the idea came from or if I'll finish it, but I'm really pleased that my brain can, apparently, come up w/random creative stuff sometimes. 974 words of it, in fact.

Another fic finished, which makes 2 out of the 3 finished fics I set as this month's goal. Again for fic_promptly, which I recommend to anybody wanting a break from a longer project. The prompt archives are just made of so much win! I think anybody could find an idea or two in there.

I am now on vacation for two weeks - sixteen days to do whatever I want! - so I have set a new goal: to write something every day. We will see how this goes.

ETA: make that three fics written today. I'm on a roll, so I hope I can keep it up!

I think the comment fic stuff, compared to what you normally write each day (at least what you've reported on past check-in posts!), might be good for resetting your brain to help you go back to your long fic! At least according to that Lifehacker article that was posted in this comm--makes sense to me. :) So yay for you!

Congratulations! So you've now finished your goal, right? Awesome!

I wish I was able to write some of the prompts for fic_promptly (especially since I've now had 4 of mine filled this week--thank you again for the one you wrote for me!). I think most of the ones in my fandoms are ones I've left, hahaha, & I mostly leave them b/c I think they are things I don't feel like I can write them myself. I keep checking the lonely prompts list though!

Friday was a no-go as far as any kind of writing went, but I'm holding out some hope for today. There's always hope on Saturday! :-D

Yes and no - I kind of qualified my original challenge by adding that at least one of them should be of decent length (3-5000 words) so I am considering it still open until I do that. Add in the other goal - to write something every day while on holiday - and I figure I should have plenty to occupy me :D
