It's that time again! How's the writing going?
I've been editing a fic I just got back from my beta reader. It's almost ready to post. I just have to make a couple of decisions about it.
So, did you:
Write?
Edit?
Send to beta?
Post?
Think about your story?
Do something else?
Take a rest?
Today's discussion question: Do you have a particular place where you prefer to write? If you do, what about it works for you?
I do most of my writing in our living room while I'm the only person at home. I used to do a lot of writing at the desk in the basement. That's a good place to be away from distractions when other people are at home. I haven't gone down there in a couple of years, however. My daughter plays down there a lot now, and the times when I could go down there, either I have the living room to myself (much warmer!) or it's the little bit of time I get with my husband each night. Of course, I also used to stay up until the wee hours to write, starting around the time my husband went to bed, and then sleep in. Can't do that now, either.

Date: Friday, February 15th, 2013 12:48 (UTC)I managed to post the 'extras' (playlist, art, Robbie & the OCs) for Twice Unjust to motivate myself to start posting the fic and got some more editing done on the print out and started to type some of them too but I'm still stuck with how to slow down/speed up the scenes that are going too quickly and too slowly.
Had a rewatch of Grass (Taggart ep) last night and started to research the effects of rohypnol on men but all I've come up with in my searching is things to do with women and date rape but not drink spiking and it's the drink spiking info I need because I'm not going down the date rape route with the fic I'm outlining, simply because it doesn't fit with the canon, the spiked drink does.
I tend to sit on the floor to write these days as my sofa-bed isn't the comfiest thing to sit on and I still haven't bought a small desk (not really got anywhere to put it). Sometimes I'll jot down a few notes when I go to the beach. When I go down to my mum's (not often mind) I sprawl out on one of the sofas if I'm alone or curl up on my bed if her and my step-dad are in. I can't really concentrate when there are other people around me when I'm writing.
