Discussion topic: Least favourite writing places. We all have favourite places to sit and write but what about the places where the writin g just doesn't happen. Where don't you like writing?

I cannot write whenever I travel because most of my long journeys are road trips and it isn't the most comfortable way to get a few words out, I also found it difficult to write on train journeys too. The same when I'm at my mum's because I feel like her and my step-dad are watching what I'm doing and I can't really concentrate too good either because the TV is rather distracting these days.

I've been working with fanmixes lately. For me it's hard to feel creative while doing these, but I do feel the community involvement aspect strongly, as I imagine people listening to them, maybe wondering about them, and writing to them. It's a very different feeling to writing fanfic.

I can't think of a specific place that's hard for me to write. More times or states of mind, I guess. I've written fic in class (at uni) although I regretted it later.

I did a bit of planning and copying of scribbled notes written in places like church or at a staff meeting. ;-) I'm not sure I'll get much else done today, as I'm waiting for guests to arrive, but don't know when they will actually come. I'm afraid to start anything because I don't like getting interrupted!

I can write most places, or at least scribble rudimentary conversation or description. I don't do well if there's a TV or radio running, and if there's the possibility that someone might talk to me, then I'm not able to really concentrate on writing. Even so, I carry a notebook with me everywhere, in case I get a chance to do something!

Might even finish editing chapter 2 of my Star Trek fanfic ...

As I get motion sick just looking down too long in cars and trains - my least favourite writing places are the ones moving.

I wrote 500 words and sorted out the planning for the next couple of scenes on my big bang.

I'm the same, I can't really write when I feel like people are watching me. Sometimes on longer bus journeys I can get a few words out but not often.
