Hi everyone, I hope you've all had a productive day.

I managed to write a couple of pages of notes yesterday during a longer than expected wait for one of my connections in Edinburgh and today I've added more to those notes. I should be able to get a couple of scenes written from them later in the week.

Discussion topic: spoilers. When it comes to spoilers do you avoid them or accept that they are part of fandom life?

I do accept them as a part of fandom life but I also tend to avoid them for the shows and movies I want to see and the books on my to read list. At the moment I am trying to avoid everything to do with Iron Man 3, Star Trek Into Darkness and The Fall because I haven't seen them yet and my reading list is now empty because I've caught up with the books I had on it.

I usually actively seek out spoilers. Part of that is that I have anxiety issues and sometimes can't face something without having some idea of what happens. Some of that, at least for movies, is the fact that I can't watch movies in theaters without getting migraines. That means that I'm months behind everybody else in seeing whatever the latest big movie is. Spoilers let me understand the discussion around such things even when I haven't had an opportunity to form my own opinions yet.

Just came back from the cinema, hope I can write a bit more ...

edit: Yes, finished another chapter for my STID fanfic just need to edit it and the last.

As for spoilers, I usually don't mind them. I am curious - just in rare cases, that I don't want to know.

I had a great day yesterday, 958 words on my scifi big bang!

I do accept spoilers as a part of fandom life, but I do very much appreciate when people cut/warn for them. That way I can decide if I want to get spoiled or not on a case by case basis.

I did a bit of reading today that counts as research; it did little more than confirm some thoughts that have been forming about one of my fics, but that in itself was quite helpful. I'm planning to do some writing today during some unexpected free time.

I am also one who actively seeks out spoilers. I feel I can relax properly and enjoy what I am watching or reading if I know what is coming. I'm one who reads the end of the book first! Only once do I recall forcing myself not to be spoiled.
