I was hoping that I could maybe get a beta. The request and more information is here.

I'm really nervous about doing this, as I have never extended my feelers out to anyone beyond a few friends, so I'm really sorry if I'm astoundingly awkward amongst other things.

Just wanted to say that it's absolutely fine to post looking for a beta! I hope you find one.

Normally I would be happy to oblige, but I don't think I have the energy/brains to beta something that long right now. ;_; (Plus, as is often true w/me, I don't know the fandom...)

Good luck finding one! I get pretty angsty about finding betas, too, so I think it's awesome that you were able to ask!

DO you happen to know anywhere else I might be able to ask around? I'm pretty new to the beta-searching process and I'm going to re-read the post here that had talked about them but I thought I would ask just in case.

No, unfortunately I don't have any great ideas. kate's comment in the beta-finding post had some fantastic ones, though.

The only thing I could think of would be to find fandom-specific comms & post there--though I know depending on fandom that might not be workable on DW (if there isn't much presence) &, if LJ is an option, could be really intimidating there (last year I wanted a beta for a v. early fic of mine & didn't have any friends in the fandom, but the LJ comm had over 1000 people in it, which was too scary for me to ask ;_;).

Yeah, I'm...going to do something. *sighs* I think I am going to see about the presence of WC fandom on DW and then, if that doesn't look like it's going to work out, maybe consider LJ.
