My writing gets erratic when I am stressed or depressed. Ironically, I know that writing helps with the latter - both the actual creation of something, and the feedback I get from sharing it. Writing is one of the best therapy tools I could recommend to ANYONE. With everything that is going on lately (stress, sickness, earthquakes, lack of sleep) I'd have to say that yes, I am in a slump. But it's not lack of ideas - it's the time and/or motivation to sit down and write them. A lot of things are getting started, but going unfinished.
I have been contemplating ways to fix this latter problem. One is to create a to-do list, but I have tried this before. It gets lost in the clutter of my desk or journal, and there's nothing really reminding me or pressing me to do it. I need to come up with something that is both more visible, and more encouraging. I may try a poll on my journal for what other people would like to see finished, and see if that offers me some more motivation. Or maybe some sort of challenge.
