Daily discussion question: That One Story. Do you have any story concepts you've been meaning to write for {TIME_PERIOD} but haven't gotten around to? Intimidated by scope or research? Worried you won't do the concept justice? Afraid of having no readers?

I have some of these periodically. They tend to reset as I change fandoms. Currently, I'm nursing an idea bout Biblical allegory. It's an intimidating concept, and hard to approach.

I pretty much never get any writing done on Thursdays. It's too full of appointments and other obligations.

I have a long list of stories that I want to write that I've put aside until some unspecified later time. Most of them are things that I can tell will be long, multi-chaptered stories, and I don't feel right starting any of them while I'm still working on Rheotaxis. I need to finish that before I dive into anything else. I need to prove to myself that I can finish a long story (even if it takes more than a decade).

I do have some of these stories. Right now, I have a fusion idea I'd love to tackle for trope_bingo, but I'm intimidated.

I have a fic which centres on infertility and although I've done bits of research and made outlines for scenes it just hasn't happened. I think I've started and scrapped it four maybe five times already. It is mainly down to the shear amount of information available on the subject that makes it difficult to write. One day it'll be done.

I wrote a couple of short ficlet length pieces today and also edited a oneshot that's been lingering on my USB for longer than I expected it to. I'll be using at least two hours on Saturday morning to post several new pieces and update the relevant prompt tables with links.

I have a couple of stories that want to be written, but I'm either not willing at the moment to do all the research it would take to write in a new fandom, or I'm just not ready to have yet another WIP going, when I already have 4 that I'm working on. I have saved all the story concepts in folders, and from time to time, I do research or add a fresh idea to the mix. I feel pretty sure that I will write them some day, even if it's just for myself!
