Hello on Monday!
What kind of a writing day has it been today?
I've been easily distracted lately, so haven't applied myself to any proper writing. As for betas, I used to have one or two people to whom I consistently sent my work, but I eventually got to the point where I was very confident in my own editing and word use, and I didn't feel the need for another looking at it. It gives me more freedom to post when I'm ready rather than waiting for a beta to get back to me. However, I will run a story by someone else if I want input on how well it reads, or if the effect of a certain character is turning out as I intended.

- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Date: Monday, March 24th, 2014 13:38 (UTC)I don't have a regular beta, in part because a lot of the fandoms I write in are mid-sized to small and the betas in these fandoms aren't there already or they've left. I've worked with a few betas before, but with varying results. The first beta I had was awesome; the rest, not nearly as good. (I had a beta go MIA on me for reasons I don't know.) I've learned to attempt to go over my work a few times to find any glaring errors myself.
