WIP Challenge Check-in, Day 18 -- Monday

 Hello on Monday!  What kind of a writing day has it been today?

•     I did some planning and/or research
•     I edited
•     I've sent my fic off to my beta
•     I posted today!
•     I'm taking a break
•     I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

For Discussion: Where do you get the most inspiration for your fics?  From plot bunnies that someone else shares?  From random ideas that come to you while doing something else?

I have not written yet today, but it's part of the plan for the day!  So I'm thinking about my fic.  My current lengthy WIPs all originated from ideas that came randomly, or that arose out of a wish to do some gapfilling or work with an AU possibility.  Most of my shorter oneshot pieces come from plot bunnies/prompts from a writing community I am a part of.  The general theme is presented, along with an element that has to be included in the story, and my inspiration comes from that.

I usually write when something bothers me. Sometimes it's a grave incongruity of cultural expectations, more often it's the lack in more obscure characters or unloved rareships. I just always need that drive to produce a story that no one else will.
