Hello on Wednesday! It's a new writing month today, as well as the halfway mark for the writing week. What kind of a writing day has it been so far today?
I have taken part in a "fanfic tumble" where a group of writers took turns adding to a story in round robin fashion. It was a lot of fun, and some very interesting stories emerged from that exercise! I have also taken part in a Big Bang where an artist created an illustration related to the fic. It's not always easy collaborating with someone but I have found it stretching in a good way and very rewarding.
- I thought about my fic once or twice
- I wrote
- I did some planning and/or research
- I edited
- I've sent my fic off to my beta
- I posted today!
- I'm taking a break
- I did something else that I'll talk about in a comment

Date: Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 15:22 (UTC)I've collaborated on a story that got completed once (I've collaborated on a couple of things that never really went anywhere because the person I was going to work with disappeared. I'm not sure they count). It was an exchange fic where I was working to a very specific prompt. That prompt was for something I'm fairly bad at doing-- action/combat scenes. Rather than default, I asked a friend who's very good with action sequences if she'd help me out. I wrote the rough skeleton of the action sequences, and she fleshed them out into something worth reading. I couldn't have done it on my own. I'd have produced a story, but it wouldn't have been a strong one.
