All stories start from something-- a prompt, an idea, a beloved character or pairing, something. The hard part is getting from the seed to the story. What's your process for that like?
I tend to take the story seed, whatever it may be, and let it stew in the back of my mind for a couple of days. If I try to start writing sooner, I just end up frustrated because the whole thing goes nowhere. After a few days, I have either a starting point or a general shape for the story. I don't always know the details, but I have enough to start writing, and a start is all I need.
