Do you use outlines? Why or why not? If you do, what kind of outline works best for you?
I tend not to use outlines. I often don't know enough about what's coming next to manage an outline. The closest I come, on long fics, is a list of scenes that I know need to happen somewhere or a lot of world building notes. For short fics, I never outline.
